Illustrative Examples
This document provides illustrative examples of the use of science and Indigenous knowledge in decision-making across levels of governance in Canada. Examples draw on a range of sectors, sources of knowledge, and public concerns. All are by nature works in progress that illuminate how the application of science and indigenous knowledge have led to tangible improvements in public outcomes, government accountability, transparency, and/or in engagement in the democratic process.

We recognize that many examples exist across sectors and jurisdictions, and we invite the inclusion of more examples from across Canada.
