The Schulte lab is in the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. We study the physiological adaptations that allow fish to live in challenging environments. We take advantage of intraspecific variation within and among populations to study the evolution of mechanisms that allow animals to respond to a changing environment. The lab uses a combination of population genomics, ecological epigenomics, biochemistry and physiology to identify mechanisms that integrate across levels of biological organization to influence animal performance.
