about jenn ruskey

I was born and raised in Victoria, BC. I went to Esquimalt High School, where I spent a lot of time playing jazz bass. I did my undergraduate degree at Princeton University (class of 2007), where I majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I took part in the department's "Semester in the Field" program in Kenya, and returned to Kenya to do reseach for my senior thesis.

After graduating, I spent one year teaching art at the Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu, India; two years working for a grassroots development trust with the San indigenous people in Botswana; and one year split between Canada and England. I am interested in evolution, conservation, rural development, art, music, writing, and many other things. I am always happy to make new friends, and believe strongly in the universality of human nature and the possibility of meaningful connections with strangers.
