Problem: My analog joystick keeps jumping around as if there is a bad contact on the Y-axis wires.

Solution: The problem may not be a hardware fault. First go to the Control Panel > Gaming Options dialog and calibrate your joystick. If it's still happening switch to the Controller IDs tab and uncheck the box Poll with interrupts enabled as shown below. It worked for me!

  3. My Recycle Bin shows up as C:\Recycled under Windows Explorer.

Problem: When I use Windows Explorer to browse my Recycle Bin it just shows up as [drive]:\Recycled and it only lists a bunch of dc*.* files and folders instead of deleted stuff. How do I get it back to normal?

Solution: The problem is that the \Recycled folder is supposed to contain a file desktop.ini that tells Windows Explorer how to display the folder contents. Somehow that file got deleted. See Microsoft's Knowledge Base article Q231838 for more information. Basically, all you have to do is empty the recycle bin (you may have to send a file there first so that there is something to empty) for Windows to recreate desktop.ini.
