Problem: On some web pages the font is too small to read. It doesn't change when I use the menu item View | Text Size so how can I make it bigger?

Solution: Fonts that won't change when you use the Text Size menu item are controlled by cascading style sheets. The easiest way to control them without disabling css altogether is the following: choose the menu item Tools | Internet Options.... On the General tab click on the Accessibility... button. In the dialog that pops up check the box labelled Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages. Then hit OK twice to get back to IE. Now the View | Text Size menu should work so you can choose for yourself how big the font is. Here's a picture of the dialog boxes:

Problem: Is there a keyboard shortcut I can use to switch between text sizes?

Solution: No, I don't think there is. But if you have a wheel mouse then try holding down the Control key while rolling the wheel. That should resize the font: roll up to make it smaller, down to make it bigger (seems backward to me). Much faster than navigating through the menu items.
