Problem: My computer is running fine but one of my fans (on the video card) has started making a loud buzzing sound. Is that normal?

Solution: No, it's not. Most likely, it just needs lubrication. You can do this yourself if you're handy. You just need to pull out the video card, unscrew and unplug the fan (write down which way the wire plugs in!) from the card and turn it over.

On the backside will be a piece of tape. Underneath that is the bearing which needs to be oiled. Just peel the tape off, squirt some oil in the hole (WD-40 worked for me) and put some fresh tape on. Put the whole thing back together and, with a little luck, it'll be running quietly for another few years!
