Disinfecting Traps

The last thing we want to do is introduce aquatic organisms between lakes, especially on different islands. Therefore, please disinfect your traps after each field trip.

There's a large rectangular bin sitting on its side in the courtyard (#18) that has been signed out to the Schluter lab to use for the summer of 2004 and beyond. Add some bleach and then stuff the traps into it for a while after returning from trips. Finally, remove the traps and rinse.

All this is easier if you back the truck into the fenced area and load/offload from there.
