Edible

Edible mushrooms have been ingested without severe health effects. Some individuals may still experience gastrointestial upset or allergic reactions. Exercise caution when eating wild mushrooms, particularly the first time a new edible species is encountered. Eat only a small amount of an edible mushroom with which you are not familiar. Some mushrooms also affect the body's metabolism, such as the ability to process alcohol.
