with Tea Francis Tasbihgou (Arachnologist, London, UK) and Andrea Haberkern (Zoology PhD student)
Overview of topics:
1. basic spider anatomy
2. identifying spiders to the family level
3. characters used to identify specimens below the family level
4. demonstration of the use of keys in spider identification
5. defining morphospecies for ecological studies, with an introduction to our database of web-building spiders from the tropical Andes
Participants will have access to dissecting scopes and specimens to identify.
