Any animal from the smallest meiofaunal critter to the biggest blue whale.Goals for BioSoc this year: To spend my final year in BIOSOC with my close friends, make some new friends before I leave, and make a difference for biology students 🙂

Favourite thing about Biology: Making connections between function and physiology is my favourite aspect of biology. I’m always blown away at the complexity and intricacy of nature’s design.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? Being able to understand and speak all languages would be my chosen superpower because I only know English, but wish I knew more. I think preserving language across generations is important for cultural understanding! I’ve always enjoyed language courses, but just haven’t been able to master one fluently yet!
Michael Chung- General Officer
Favourite thing about Biology: I find it an absolute blast to work with organisms whether in a lab or out in the field. There is nothing more fun to me than a meaningful interaction with wildlife. I love to see the diversity life offers and the various interactions it provides. I think its important to appreciate the history of humans and how connected we are to other living things.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?:
Teleporting would be awesome so I could sleep in until class instead of sleeping in class.

Favourite thing about Biology: I love the diversity! There’s so much beauty and richness all around the world. I hope to continue to learn and explore how various species maintain survival through interactions with the environment and with other species as well.
Goals for BioSoc this year: I hope to get as many students excited and involved in our events so that they can use them as a means of relieving school stress and building meaningful relationships. (:
What is your favourite organism and why? My favourite organism would be the Giant Panda. They live a low-stress lifestyle, enjoy their solitude, eat for more than half the day, and sleep between meals. They’re also adorable and harmless! What’s there not to love?

What is your favourite organism and why? Pandas. Because they’re fat and dragon warrior.

Favourite thing about Biology: How broad biology actually is! There’s so much that we know and so much that we don’t- there’s no way you can run out of things to study.
Goals for BioSoc this year: Bring together the Biology community here at UBC academically and socially!

Favourite thing about Biology: The wide variety of intricate connections and interactions between species in the world where every organism will be affected by the presence of another organism. Competition, facilitation, parasitism you name it!
Goals for BioSoc this year: To help provide greater opportunities for biology students to connect with their peers and professors which contributes to building a community where people feel more included.
What is your favourite organism and why?: My favourite organism would be penguins because of their awesome adaptation of being able to survive in extremely cold temperatures and swim with great maneuverability underwater. Who knows, they may secretly know how to dance 😉
