Genomics. Tenure-track Faculty position.

The University of Ottawa invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Genomics with an appointment to the Department of Biology at the Assistant Professor level, to commence 1 July 1999. The successful candidate will participate in undergraduate/graduate teaching, and will carry out independent research in comparative and/or functional genomics. The Department has an established group of faculty researchers in the area of Molecular Evolution and a major grant has been submitted to the Canadian Foundation for Innovation to enhance existing facilities for genomics and bioinformatics research. Current research interests of faculty members include molecular phylogenetics, microbial genomics, and the evolution of gene structure. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to interact with the University=92s research group in Human Genomics. As the university is a bilingual institution, preference will be given to candidates able to teach in both French and English.
