The Virtual Library will be a "distributed" library consisting of real paper and book items in various rooms and offices throughout the department. People with reading material they are willing to share will be able to list those items on this site so that others can know that they are available. Since people often choose to own material that they consider especially useful, or generally difficult to obtain, the resulting collection might be quite interesting.

A potential borrower can then check this site and see who has what they would like to read.

The on-line library has items in digital form that can be downloaded.
