Mushroom Microscopy Workshop
  • Where: Beaty Biodiversity Museum
2212 Main Mall, University of British Columbia
  • When: November 13-15, 2009

Oluna Ceska led a multi-day workshop examining the difficult-to-identify little brown mushrooms found in the forest. Participants gathered for a presentation the first evening of the workshop. The morning of the second day was spent in the field, armed with a collection permit, finding specimens in the woods. The afternoon and the third day were dedicated to work in the lab, investigating the distinctive microscopic features of the mushrooms.

This event was presented in conjunction with the Vancouver Mycological Society and had financial suppport from Genome BC's Science Opportunities Fund for the project 'Barcoding of BC ectomycorrhizal mushrooms'.
